Making a Difference
We are excited to share with you just some of the ways in which our work makes a difference in the lives of children, families and communities and supports the wonderful organizations that GRE Consulting has been privileged to partner with . We have been blessed to work with a wonderfully diverse group of individuals and organizations whose programs and services have a global impact.
Although diverse, what they do have in common is a heart for the work of helping others! We are proud to call the following organizations "Friends of GRE"!
Inland Northwest Community Services
Continuing a long-time partnership, GRE Consulting supports partnership building with community groups to provide education and health care services to families from migrant and refugee communities. We emphasize ways in which diverse languages, cultures, and faith traditions bring richness and strength to communities. Through tutoring programs, young people are enhancing their skills in mathematics and language arts, and increasing opportunities for entry and success in post-secondary education.
Salaam Urban Village Association
Families from east Africa countries bring richness to our major metropolitan centers. They also face unique challenges integrating into new communities, and barriers to becoming productive citizens. We are seeking foundation and federal support to understand ways to honor the unique gifts of these transplanted communities, while at the same time providing support services to families who have sometimes come through great adversity to reach this country. The current crisis in central and east Africa has taken a terrible toll, with tens of thousands of children dying of starvation and disease over the past months. The impact is deeply felt in the East African communities we serve in the greater Seattle, Washington area, and across the United States. We continue to work with these communities to find avenues to help migrant and refugee families better integrate into the larger community and for the larger community to understand and appreciate the unique gifts they bring. A grant written by GRE Consulting recently resulted in funding for Salaam Urban Village Association (SUVA) to use technology to connect East African young people and elders living in Seattle and to connect both to the ?City of Seattle. For more information on how you can help, contact the Salaam Urban Village Association.

Adult Day Care Spokane
A Safe, Beautiful and Engaging Environment
GRE contracted to develop a business plan that birthed the first eastern Washington Adult Day Care Center offering a rich potpourri of day activities for extended hours, six days a week, with approval to accept COPES (Medicaid) clients. Our research supports deepening understandings of “appreciative aging”. The summer Adult Day Care Spokane held their first camps for elders and adults with disabilities. For information on business plans for adult day services, contract Samuel Mahaffy at GRE Consulting. Interfaith Hospitality of Spokane is now Family Promise of Spokane!
A Response by the Faith Community to Serve Homeless Families
GRE Consutlimg has provided multi-year support to the efforts of a coalition of thirty churches to serve homeless families. We developed a significant number of funded grant applications and facilitated a visioning process that launched the re-branding of Interfaith Hospitality of Spokane as Family Promise of Spokane. Homeless families are better served through the public-private partnerships that have been funded by grants prepared by GRE Consulting. We are currently seeking facility funding for transitional housing for families moving toward stable living environments. For information on how an appreciative visioning process led to a subtle but profound change in direction for this organization, e-mail info@greconsulting.org and request "Case Study IHS" in the heading.
